Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She works as an ESPN anchor on news, and she hosts SportsNation often. She was hired by ESPN in 2016. The daughter of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was a bilingual since the age nine years old. This is a beneficial talent that enabled her to get her first position as a production associate at Univision in Miami and gave her the opportunity to interact with producers of national television shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Following this she was hired by the CBS subsidiary of St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. In 2009 she moved from Rio Grande Valley, Texas in order to be journalist for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. She covered stories about immigration and drug trafficking in both Texas as well as Mexico. Also, she was often requested to be an anchor for the weather or sports. Later, she was anchor and reporter at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She covered all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason and finals FC Dallas as well. In addition, she hosted on the regional Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She also served as the sports anchor of Despierta America Deportes morning show. The anchor also worked as anchor for sports on Primer Impacto, a magazine program on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents are originally of Veracruz Mexico. They eventually moved to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She's older than her sister. The family relocated in Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. In 1992, her parents separated and shortly afterward in 1995 she was remarried Fabio Fajardo, a naval engineer who passed away in 2006 due to kidney cancer. The summer of 2006, she visited the week she spent with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working at the time. Antonietta she was a high school senior with an idea of what she wanted her future to look like, came to Mount Union University to see whether the university was suitable for her. It was an amazing campus. It also gave her the college she had always wanted. After graduating from school, she was enrolled at the University to study media studies. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the managing director of WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was a member. Professor Mark Bergmann influenced her with his enthusiasm in journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
